The group of linebackers expected to arrive in Tuscaloosa Saturday has the potential to be the best of the entire Scout.com combines tour. Rolando McClain and Eltoro Freeman lead this exceptional group.

Decatur’s Rolando McClain is the headliner for the group of linebackers in Tuscaloosa this weekend. As one of the best in the South, he holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.

Benjamin Russell’s Eltoro Freeman holds scholarship offers from Auburn, Kentucky and Ole Miss. He lists his early favorites as FSU, Auburn and Louisville.

Jeffrey Daniels

Brantley’s Jeffrey Daniels had a monster junior campaign recording 158 tackles and five interceptions during his junior campaign. The scholarship offers haven’t arrived just yet, but expect a lot of movement after he hits the Scout.com combine and summer camps.

Herschel Houston

Cherokee County’s Herschel Houston is a versatile athlete playing linebacker and running back for his high school squad. He’ll receive looks from college coaches at fullback as well. Houston rushed for 1,865 yards with 28 touchdowns. He is the nephew of former Tide fullback Martin Houston.

Sparkman’s Albert Rocker is receiving heavy interest from Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State and Miami. He is seeking his first scholarship offer, and the Scout.com combine gives him the stage he has wanted since his solid performance during his junior season.

Several talented linebackers had very productive junior seasons and will perform Saturday ready to take their game to the next level.

Look for a lot of recruiting news with this group: Dee Clark (Sheffield), Michael DeJohn (Hoover), Jonathan Birmingham (Benjamin Russell), Kenneth High-Dorsey (Homewood), Dexter Daniels (Brantley), Stanley Scarborough (Fairfield), Rodney Garrott (Sparkman), Hilliard Foster (Wetumpka), Mark Frazier (Vigor), Takendric Stewart (Vigor), Cassius Patton (Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa), Derrick Williams (Curry), Brock Peters (Wilson), Kody Willis (Foley), Justin Vann (Bob Jones), Isaiah Persons (Auburn), Justin Byrd (Washington County), Chris Humphries (Brewer), Marc Dunn (Westminster Academy), Robert Cook (Parker), Tony Johnson (Milton, Fla.), Sid Cupples (Choctawhatchee, Fla.), Josh Cragin (Choctawhatchee, Fla.) Terrence Thomas (Eufaula), Rodney Guins (Cedar Bluff), William Thomas (Greenville) and Jamontay Pilson (Greenville).
