Scout.com Combines Kick Off In JAX

The Scout.com Combines officially kick off on Wednesday night as some of Florida's best come together under the lights in Jacksonville. Nearly 150 of the state's top prospects will work out in this invitation-only event on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice fields next to Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

Throughout the Southeast, the wide receiver position is one of the strongest in some time and many of the best will be in Florida, including Melvin Ray a recent transfer to North Florida Christian, Darius Morgan from North Marion, Daniel Bryant who is back at Chiles as of Monday, Antonio Bell from Mainland, and Alfred Jenkins from Terry Parker.

Nigel Bradham

Another very deep position in the state this year is amongst the Florida linebackers, and there will be a battle with names like Vincent Williams from Ridge Community High, Lerentee McCray from Dunnellon, Wake Forest commitment Riley Haynes from Nease, and perhaps the state's top prospect Nigel Bradham from Wakulla all expected to attend on Wednesday evening. Keep an eye out for the results on class of 2009 linebacker Willie Ferrell from FAMU, who is one of the country's top prospects for next year.

Along the lines, there are destined to be some great battles with some of the state's top big men going at it in the one-on-ones. Those players include big defensive tackle Earl Okine from Gainesville, Ramon Booi out of Nease, Crystal River defensive end Kyle Roddenberry, offensive tackle Matt Sanders from Crestview, Joshua Wilcox from Andrew Jackson, center Ian Osking out of Westwood High, and guard Stephen Wester from Sneads.

Richard Watson

The running backs provide more marquee names for the evening with several big and intruiging prospects expected to be on hand including Richard Watson from FAMU in Tallahassee, Montel Harris and Jamie Harper from Jacksonville's Trinity Christian School, Darriet Perry from Lowndes in Georgia, and Ryan Middleton from Edgewater.
