The Under Armour/Scout.com combine has been wrapped up and the reviews are starting to come in. On a bright shiny day 140 of the Southwest's best showed up to compete against each other. One higlight of the day was the outstanding play of Scout.com's number 14 rated player in Craig Loston. Loston was the highest ranked player to make the combine and more than showed he deserved high rankings. He is a playmaker and was constantly among the top performers at the various testings and drills. The big buzz of the day was Lache Seastrunk of Temple having the best fourty time in the past three years when he ran a 4.41 into the wind. Seastrunk is just a sophomore. Marcus Trice of Mesquite was not only one of the best players in the combine but might have had the best personality. Trice is cocky and confident and always seemed to be trying to get his teammates pumped up. On the line Randall Dent and Alex Okafor are just two defensvie linemen who had big days. Both excelled at everything and solidified their rankings. On the offensive line Joel Gray showed that not only is he a big time talent but he also likes to hustle. Of course there were plenty of quarterbacks at the combine and Drew Allen of Alamo Heights was impressive. He not only looks the part of a college level quarterback he plays to that level also. Plenty of other players stood out and they will be revealed in articles that will be out all week long. Look for a breakdown of each position and for the All-Combine team this week. |
