Kenneth Guiton, QB, Aldine (TX) Eisenhower
Guiton was one of a few quarterbacks who really shined at the Dallas Combine Saturday. While he may have started off kind of slow, the 6-foot-2, 173-pound Guiton starting getting into a rhythm and starting completing plenty of passes before the day was over.
“Today (Saturday) went real good. Early on, I had to really get into it,” Guiton said. “I liked everything around here. And once we got to 7-on-7, I was ready. At the beginning I just had to warm up myself and I wasn’t doing too good.”
Guiton has three offers right now from Kansas, Northwestern, and Rice. Of the schools listed, he has already named a favorite.
“Kansas University is my favorite right now. When I went to their junior day I really liked the atmosphere around there and I liked the coaches attitude,” Guiton said. “Kansas State, Purdue, Nebraska, Arizona is a few of the other schools looking at me.”
He said that his next offer may be from Missouri because the Tiger coaches have called the school to talk with his coach and seemed to be highly interested. Guiton said he is thinking about making a trip up there.
The Eisenhower quarterback threw for 2,592 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also added another 300 yards rushing with 12 touchdowns.
Taylor Gabriel, Mesquite Horn
The Mesquite Horn wide receiver Tayler Gabriel was the clear-cut best wide out at the Under Armour/Scout.com combine in Dallas. He had this to say about his showing
“With my performance, I think I did pretty good,” Gabriel said. “The competition here was good and my testing went well. In 7-on-7 and 1-on-1, I kind of showed out.”
Right now, the 5-foot-9, 170-pound Gabriel has a single offer, but looks for that to change here in the near future
“I have one offer from Tulsa, “ Gabriel said. “But I’m getting looks from Oklahoma, OSU, Rice, North Texas, Connecticut, and couple more little schools. I really like Tulsa, but I like Texas Tech as well because they throw the ball a lot. My feeling towards them (Texas Tech) is pretty good. I would love to go to a camp and talk to one the coaches. That would be real good.”
He said that Tulsa and Texas Tech are likely on his summer agenda. In addition, North Texas and Baylor are the other camps he would like to attend. The Horn receiver finished his junior season with 60 catches for 701 yards and four touchdowns.
Jazmon Reynolds, WR, Aldine Eisenhower
One of the players on a strong Aldine (TX) Eisenhower team, Reynolds is very happy with the way recruiting has gone so far. The 6-foot-3, 183-pound Reynolds has offers from all across the country.
“Right now Baylor, Rice, Houston, Minnesota, Virginia, Northwestern, are my offers,” Reynolds said. “And, I just got a Kansas offer yesterday.”
He did not name a favorite, but does plan to visit Minnesota, Texas Tech, and Kansas over the summer. As far as interest is concern, Reynolds would also like to hear from schools like Alabama, Oklahoma and Oregon.
For whatever team he chooses, a decision will come in a matter of months.
“Hopefully I’ll commit before the season starts,” Reynolds said.
