Scout.com's Jacksonville combine over the weekend was loaded with D1 prospects and you can check out some photos of them in action right here.
One of the top players in attendance was Lorenzo Edwards of Orlando’s Edgewater High School. Zo has been all over the country at combines across the nation and he looked great in Jacksonville on Sunday as well.
Jacoby Monroe is flanked by other defensive linemen in Jacksonville on Sunday afternoon. Monroe was consistently dominant all day long in the one on one drills and appears poised for a huge senior season after missing all of last year. Florida State is off to a big lead for this Sandalwood star early on.
Nease High School’s Clyde Yandell is one of the top OL’s in the Sunshine State for the class of ’07 and the big man weighed in at an impressive 6’5 304lbs over the weekend. He’s already collected offers from the likes of FIU, Louisville and Stanford and he names an early top 5 consisting of Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame, Boston College and Auburn.
Heralded as one of the top quarterbacks headed into the combine, California’s Chris Forcier made a stop in Jacksonville on his way to visit the Gators and the Canes later this week. He certainly did not disappoint as he slung nice balls all over the Florida sky and showed he’s not only a great athlete, but a nice looking passer as well.
Willie White (left) and D.J. Donley (right) were possibly the best two wide receivers present on Sunday afternoon. Both South Georgian’s turned in a great performance all afternoon and made their share of spectacular grabs. Oddly enough, each of those Peach State stars could end up playing defense on the next level.
Saint Augustine’s Raishawn Wilson may have shown up slightly late to Jacksonville, but he made it in plenty of time to show just how good of a player he is. Raishawn has superb quickness and change of direction and it’s no surprise schools across the south are already hot and heavy after this Atlantic Coast standout.
Rickard’s HS is becoming a must stop destination for colleges across the country and this year is no different. With players like Rudell Crim (pictured here), Toronto Smith and Verterris Bryant all available at the Tallahassee program for ’07, you can bet coach Maurice Belser will be a busy man. Crim already holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida and Illinois. At this time the Gators have a big advantage and they may prove tough to top for his signature.
