Campanaro is a complete football player. A game breaker that has great speed and open field moves. Can score from anywhere on the field. Is a strong runner that will run around you or through you. Has great ball skills and good balance. Is a physical, sure tackler on defense. Excels as kick/punt returner as well. Played more as running back in high school and will get the opportunity at Wake Forest also.

Biography:
As a senior, Campanaro had a total of 37 touchdowns, 1848 yards rushing yards, 258 receiving yards, 71 tackles and seven interceptions. He had 29 rushing touchdowns, one passing, three receiving, three by interception return and two by punt return. He was named Washington Post Offensive Player of the Year and will be playing in the Under Armour All-American game.

As a junior, Campanaro set several records for River Hill High School. He had 1850 rushing yards, 2310 total yards and 30 touchdowns on the season. He also set records for most rushing yards in a game with 253, longest touchdown run at 87 yards, most career yards with 3955, most touchdowns in a career with 50, most fumble recoveries in a game with two, most all purpose yards in a season with 2881, most punt returns for touchdowns with four and longest punt return at 86 yards.

Campanaro also caught eight passes for 226 yards and five touchdowns and completed both of his pass attempts for 94 yards and a score. He was also very dangerous on special teams, averaging over 30 yards per return and returning two kickoffs for touchdowns. Also had three interceptions and forced two fumbles. He was named first-team All-State at defensive back, first-team All-Met at running back by the Baltimore Sun, first-team All-Met at defensive back by the Washington Post, Defensive Player of the Year by the Baltimore Examiner, Howard County Player of the Year and the Gatorade Player of the Year for the State of Maryland. River Hill also went 14-0, winning their first ever State Championship.

Campanaro was named the Howard County Player of the Year as a junior by the league's coaches. He earned first-team Washington-Post All-Met honors.

As a sophomore, Campanaro carried 120 times for 1044 yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught 26 passes for 601 yards and eight touchdowns. That is a gaudy 8.7 yards per carry and 23.1 yards per reception. He also added 66 tackles and three interceptions on defense.

Campanaro reports a 3.0 core GPA and 1050 SAT.

Campanaro: "I kind of do it all. I can run north and south really well, but am also good in the slot position and can create mismatches for the defense. I make plays and can turn the game around with one play.

"I still want to be a better cornerback and work on my defense, especially my footwork. I haven't played much defense in high school, so I think a lot of that will come with experience. On offense, I want to work on running between tackles better."

Campanaro says he'll most likely play offense in college. "A lot of coaches are telling me that I'm the next Wes Welker and they see me playing the inside slot position."
