| Kevin Nelson finished his junior season with 125 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two fumbles caused and one blocked punt. First Team All-Area 3A-6A. He says he can bench 355-pounds, squats an amazing 700-pounds and has a 30-inch vertical jump. Nelson also runs track (10.95 100m; 24.52 200m; 40’ shot put). “I’d like to do track in college too,” he said.
Nelson plans on majoring in either sociology or hotel management. He reports a 2.6 core GPA and a 16 ACT, which he plans on retaking.
Nelson: “I read the game well. I can get through the line and use my hips well when I make tackles. I’m flexible and my motor never stops.
“I want to use my hands better and improve my technique. I also want to improve my coverage skills and take better angles.”
