| As a 2008 junior at Encino (Calif.) Crespi, Hroniss Grasu earned First Team All-Serra League honors and was named to the Los Angeles Daily News All-Area Team. He finished his junior season with 35 tackles and three sacks. Also plays basketball and volleyball.
He had 40 tackles and five sacks as a 2007 sophomore, playing just seven games on defense, but helping Encino (Calif.) Crespi to the Serra League title and the CIF-SS Pac-5 Finals. Earned First Team All-State Sophomore in 2007. A two-way starter at both offensive and defensive lines.
Grasu plans on majoring in business and reports a 3.4 core GPA and a 1770 SAT.
Grasu: “I have a motor that never stops. I have good athleticism for my size and play hard on every play. I like being on defense, but I’ll play wherever the coach wants me to.
“I still really want to bulk up and develop my muscles more. That’ll help me be more physical and tough.”
